 TEAM PRINCIPAL - 1996 FORMULA 1 MOD
 Data pack for Team Principal: A Racing Manager (v0.99.1 Definitive)
================================================================

INSTALLATION
  1. Copy the "1996" folder into:
        Team Principal A Racing Manager\data\
  2. In the game, open the season menu ("Choose Your Season"), pick
        "1996" from the Season Pack dropdown and click Confirm. The game
        relaunches with the pack loaded.
        (Advanced alternative: open active_pack.json in the game root and
         set  "active_pack": "1996"  by hand.)
  3. Start a NEW career. The pack ships with 52 race laps set as the
        default; anything from 50-57 gives period-correct attrition.

  Requires game version 0.99.1 "Definitive". Older versions will not load
  this pack correctly. Existing careers from earlier versions must be
  restarted.

WHAT'S NEW IN THIS RELEASE
----------------------------------------------------------------

0.99.1 "DEFINITIVE" COMPATIBILITY
  The game loads its constants from the ACTIVE PACK rather than from its own
  bundle, so any constant a new build adds and a pack lacks crashes the game
  on launch. 0.99.1 added HQ_CONSTRUCTION_DEPOSIT_PCT and did exactly that
  to every pack built for 0.99c. This release fixes it and picks up the rest
  of 0.99.1 as well:

    - HQ_CONSTRUCTION_DEPOSIT_PCT, plus the new driver retirement window
      (raised to 33 / 40, because 1990s drivers raced deeper into their
      thirties - Berger and Brundle were both 37 in 1996).
    - HQ upgrades now take construction time; build weeks added to all 55
      upgrade levels across the eight facilities.
    - New Safety Car Policy rule, defaulting to physical safety cars only.
      The virtual safety car does not arrive in the sport until 2015, so it
      sits at a low weight for very long careers, and the VSC tuning block
      is configured in case one ever rolls it.
    - Personnel negotiation tuning and the new driver radio lines.
    - The pack now follows the game's UI theme instead of carrying its own
      hardcoded palette.

MULTI-LINE RACECRAFT ON EVERY CIRCUIT
  0.99c added physical lateral passing, lane changes to escape dirty air,
  slipstreaming and blue-flag behaviour - but only on tracks that declare
  a racing surface. Every circuit in this pack now has one, with a width
  and lane count set from that circuit's real character: Monaco runs 8 m
  and two lanes, Hungaroring 10 m and three, Silverstone and Magny-Cours
  14 m and five. Starting grids are defined per circuit too.

WEEKEND TYRE ALLOCATION - 1996 RULES
  Three rulesets, defaulting to "Goodyear Weekend Supply": ten sets of
  slicks and seven sets of wets per driver for the whole weekend, and NO
  intermediate compound, because 1996 did not have one. The FIA imposed
  no set-count limit in 1996 - supply was simply whatever Goodyear, the
  sole supplier, brought to the circuit - so this is a finite pile of
  rubber rather than a regulation cap. Practice mileage now costs you
  qualifying tyres. The other two options are unlimited supply, and the
  1997 FIA set limit (7 dry sets, intermediates legal) that a long career
  can drift into.

ATTRITION REBUILT AROUND THE REAL 1996 SEASON
  Cars used to finish far too often. Across the real 1996 season 46% of
  starts ended in retirement - 150 retirements from 326 starts, split
  roughly 57% mechanical and 43% accident. A new "Nineties Attrition"
  reliability regulation is now the default, crash and collision rates
  are up, and every team's chassis reliability has been re-anchored on
  its actual 1996 retirement record:

      Williams 22% DNF (most reliable car of the year)
      McLaren    31%      Benetton  38%      Jordan   44%
      Sauber 48% Ferrari 50% (the F310 was quick and fragile)
      Tyrrell    50%      Ligier    53%      Minardi  55%
      Footwork   63%      Forti     70%

  Per-circuit DNF modifiers were rebalanced the same way: Monaco, Monza,
  Hockenheim and Montreal punish cars, Magny-Cours and the Nurburgring do
  not. Expect to lose around a third of the field in a typical race.

THE FULL 16-ROUND CALENDAR
  Argentina (Buenos Aires) and Portugal (Estoril) are in, so the season
  is the complete real 1996 championship for the first time. Both
  circuits came from the community 1995 mod by ELABIONVASTARDO; their
  pace profiles were recalibrated against the real 1996 pole times so
  they sit consistently alongside the rest of the calendar.

REAL 1996 CAR NUMBERS
  Ferrari 1-2, Benetton 3-4, Williams 5-6, and on down to Forti 22-23 -
  Schumacher carried number 1 to Ferrari even though Benetton had won the
  1995 constructors' title. Number 13 is not issued.

CORRECTED 1996 CAREER RECORDS
  Eight of the twenty-two race drivers carried career figures that still
  included results from 1996 and later. Every driver's seasons, wins,
  podiums and poles are now correct as they stood on the morning of the
  Australian Grand Prix:

      Hill        poles   13 -> 11
      Schumacher  podiums 40 -> 38, poles 14 -> 10
      Alesi       podiums 14 -> 18, poles  2 ->  1
      Berger      podiums 40 -> 44, poles 10 -> 11
      Hakkinen    podiums 10 ->  9
      Coulthard   podiums  6 ->  9
      Brundle     seasons  9 -> 11
      Herbert     seasons  6 ->  7, podiums 6 -> 4

DRIVERS FOR THE RECORD BOOKS
  Prost, Mansell, Piquet, Lauda, Emerson Fittipaldi, Keke Rosberg,
  Patrese, Arnoux, Boutsen and de Cesaris are now in the pack as retired
  drivers with their real career records. They never take a seat and do
  not appear in the driver market - they exist so the Statistics screen
  has the history behind it.

REAL JUNIOR-SERIES LINE-UPS
  0.99c lets a mod pin named drivers into named junior seats. 68 seats
  across CART, the IRL, Indy Lights, F3000, Formula Nippon, British F3
  and British Formula Ford are now filled with their real 1996 drivers -
  every CART team, and ten of eleven IRL teams.

PAY DRIVERS
  Diniz, Rosset, Lavaggi, Badoer, Montermini and Marques now bring an
  explicit budget to their teams, as they really did.

ALSO
  - Pre-qualifying constants configured (it never fires on the real
    22-car grid, only if a long career grows the entry list past 30).
  - Era-scaled sponsor payout brackets, so regenerated sponsor deals stay
    in 1996 money.
  - Pre-season test venues defined (Estoril, Barcelona, Silverstone).
  - Fixed 18 drivers whose personality keys the engine did not recognise,
    leaving them with no personality at all.
  - Obsolete 0.99b constants removed.
